About This Archive
This site preserves Neuroplicity as an archive of a multi-year Duke student/faculty science communication project.
Neuroplicity (2014-2018) is no longer an active project, but its original content remains available here as an archive. The site documents a collaborative effort, supported by Duke University's Bass Connections program and the Josiah Charles Trent Memorial Foundation Endowment Fund, to translate neuroscience research into accessible stories for broad, non-specialist audiences. The content was created solely by Duke students with mentorship from faculty researchers, with the goal of making neuroscience more engaging and understandable to the public.
What is preserved here?
The archive includes interviews with Duke neuroscientists, explainers of key concepts in neuroscience, and narratives that explore the daily lives of scientists, preserved as originally published on the Neuroplicity WordPress site. Only the aesthetic design of the original site has been updated to fit contemporary web standards, while the content itself remains unchanged to maintain its historical integrity.
The only modifications to the original content are this page explaining the nature of the archive, as well as "where are they now" (as of May 2026) updates to our student team profiles.
Project status
Neuroplicity is preserved here for reference and educational access. The project is no longer active, and the content is not being updated or maintained.
While the videos and materials remain available, they may not reflect the most current research or perspectives in neuroscience. Users are encouraged to view the content as a snapshot of the project during its active years (2014-2018), rather than as an up-to-date resource on neuroscience.
